Mormon leaders, military veterans and elected officials reacted with anger to a new Department of Defense policy that does not consider The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be a Christian religion as part of a wider effort to cut down the U.S. military’s list of recognized faiths.

“The Pentagon’s decision to list The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints apart from other Christian faiths is wrong and needs to be corrected,” Republican Rep. Mike Kennedy, of heavily Mormon Utah, wrote on X on Sunday.

The wild thing is that they were always going to turn on the Mormons. The evangelicals fucking hate the LDS Church, and they’ve been pretty candid about that for a long time. But the Mormons so badly wanted to be in the conservative Christian gang they convinced themselves they would always be accepted.

The evangelicals treated the Mormons like useful idiots. Now they think they have no use for them. So they’ve become just idiots.

This right here is the shit I’ve been waiting for. They’ll turn on Catholics soon enough and I’m shocked Jehovah’s Witnesses exist in the list at all since there’s literally no members allowed to do anything in the military not even non-combat. Evangelicals aren’t even a homogenous group in and of themselves, consisting of the likes of Baptists and Pentecostals who disagree strongly about… certain things.

They all used to piss and bitch and fight each other all the time. Seems they realized they were all headed for the dustbin of history recently, but I knew it couldn’t last forever…

Exactly. Catholics will be next. Then Orthodox and Coptic church members, and yeah the JWs. Oh, and the liberal Lutherans and Episcopalians too.

And then the evangelicals will start cannibalizing each other. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them unify into a single church that worships Trump as a prophet (profit? Haha), and that group viciously takes down any other evangelicals still standing.

Hopefully things don’t get to that point.

My great grandmother was part of a Pentacostal church that split in half over a single bible verse. But they were both still speaking in tongue after the split.

Catholics are up soon. Evangelicals will flat out try and convert them since they are not Christians.
