tl;dr:

  • an FCC filing suggests that there will be 4 strap materials referred to as “plastic active strap”, “metal mesh strap”, “metal link strap” and “metal slim strap”;

  • there’s no mention of UWB in the filing.

As a reminder, these were the latest leaks we had before: https://lemmy.world/post/2715637

    I have a Mobvoi Ticwatch, which at this point is just an expensive pedometer - although I do appreciate the incoming call notifications, so I’ve been thinking of upgrading. As a daily driver, what would you say are the top 3 things you use the google watch for, and how well does it do those things?

      1. Responding to messages. It does well on this part.
      2. I recently had a newborn so there’s an app to track the kid’s feeding/sleep/whatever so I used that a ton when the watch came out.
      3. Exercise app. I had a hybrid smartwatch before this and I used that mostly to track my weight/exercise time. It does this pretty well.

      Other things I like about it. I can call people on the watch which I think is great if you get the LTE version and you leave the house. Otherwise the WiFi version still does it if you’re connected to your phone.

      Next 3 years I’m looking for a longer battery time and more useful apps.

        Thank you for the well thought out response. I think that’s a lot more utility than I get out of my current watch. Responding to texts would be a nice feature, as I don’t usually carry my phone at all times. I may snag an OG Pixel Watch when they release the Pixel Watch 2
