Mace, who originally described herself as “pro-transgender rights” as recently as 2023, took a hard turn to campaign against any expression of transgender identity in public spaces. When McBride became the first transgender person elected to Congress, Mace introduced the proposal to bar her from the women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill, proclaiming, “The sanctity of protecting women and standing up against the Left’s systematic erasure of biological women starts here in the nation’s Capitol.”
Flash forward to tonight, where Mace ran an aggressive and vocal campaign for governor of South Carolina, only to lose out on President Donald Trump’s endorsement and come in fifth place in a crowded primary.
McBride reacted to the news with a short quip, reported by Axios’ Andrew Solender.
“Congress’ top bathroom sheriff, Nancy Mace, was on the ballot," said McBride. "And while all of the votes have not yet been counted, she’s in a respectful 5th place. I don’t like to punch down and I believe in the politics of grace, so I’ll just say, Happy Pride, Nancy.”

When Red States Accidentally Do the Right Thing
Idk if kicking a TERF out of the party because your constituents are easily duped into believing she’s a Trans-ally is the W folks are making it out to be.
This is more just the insanity of the GOP on display. It’s the Shepherd’s Tone of politics, where you win a primary by raising a bigger pot of money than your opponent to run “That one’s a Woke Tranny!” ads in between every Shrimp Jesus post on Memaw’s Facebook feed.
Gold.
On what planet is Nancy Made a TERF? She hates trans people but she isn’t otherwise feminist
She regularly touts her history as one of the first women to graduate from The Citadel. And she campaigns as a Girl Boss personality. Much of her anti-Trans rhetoric involves accusing trans women of sexual assault and claiming they undermine women’s organizations.
It’s a very Republican brand of feminism.
It’s the Republican primary vote, so I assume all her opponents are probably also awful. I’m actually not familiar with the two who are going to the runoff, but I am thrilled to see both Mace and Norman gave up their incumbency in the US House of Reps to run for governor and then immediately lose in the primary. I live in Ralph Norman’s current district and I’ll be so happy to see him out at the end of this term.
Oh absolutely. The ‘win’ is strictly for the schadenfreude.
Oh yeah. That’s the stuff.
I live in his district too and I hope that rat fuck is gone forever. He’s a cockroach though, so we’ll see.
Go Dittmer!
