I can’t get rid of it, it’s obnoxious. I’ve tried filtering the element with my adblocker but it keeps reappearing. As much as I find Reddit useful (unfortunately), especially for information and discussion relating to my country, I will never install their proprietary garbage app on my phone just to use their website.

Oh well. I’ve used the Internet before Reddit existed, I’m sure I can get used to doing so again.

At the risk of sending you back to the hellsite, there are extensions that force all reddit pages to load in old.reddit

When I have to use reddit (searching for info about obscure idle games from 10 years ago), old.reddit makes it tolerable.

There’s a scraper app called RDX that I have also used with success. You can only lurk which is fine by me as I haven’t contributed in years over there.

That just straight up would not work for me, it doesn’t fit my use case.

I need to be able to post a pic of my ingame setup and ask for advice from people who have played longer than I have, or occasionally give advice to a new player. A read-only version just doesn’t meet my needs.

I’m glad it works for you though!

There’s no fix for the fact that they started banning people just for upvoting the wrong thing, though. That was the point that I bailed. Reddit is now censorship prime, and you never know what topics they’re hiding from the public.

You don’t even need an extension; desktop site mode will also do the trick on mobile.
