The drone strategy seems to be the most consequential here from my basic understanding. Their middle strike capability and their sheer production capacity allows them to strike further into Russian territory than they ever have and better disrupt supply lines, effectively cutting off a lot of the Russian occupied territories from fuel, food, and other critical supplies. The arbitrage on the cost of a drone vs the cost of the infrastructure they are attacking is just untenable for Russia, and they are now having to choose carefully who gets critical supplies and air defense assets, because there aren’t enough for everyone.
