Funny how “trying to actually win the war and achieve their stated aims” is still treated as speculative these days. They basically invented the state of modern warfare to achieve it.
Yes Ukraine possibly has the worlds strongest military today. For sure they have the strongest in Europe.
I still remember the Bayraktar drone Ukraine used early in the war, and the popular song they made about it.
It’s funny how in the beginning Ukraine got their drones from Turkey, and Russia got theirs from Iran.
But undoubtedly Ukraine has developed the drone technologies way further than these initial drones. So Ukraine is now the world leader on drone technology.
is still treated as speculative these days.
We don’t know for sure what Ukraine is planning, but a lot of us saw the Ukrainian determination and skill early on and together with Russian incompetence, we predicted (and hoped) that Russia would lose this war already early into the war.
The talk about Ukraine taking back Crimea has been going on for years, but it is only now, that Ukraine may be strong enough to actually do it.
The spring offensive Ukraine made a couple of years ago, did NOT go as planned for many reasons that weren’t all the fault of Ukraine. The war of attrition however has worked very well, and the tide is now in Ukraine’s favor. But it’s very different to go on the offensive, but I am confident that Ukraine will plan and execute well this time, because they are way more competent and better equipped now.
Ukraine is making moves that could be used to retake Crimea. However they may have a different plan that we don’t know. I’m not a general but my thought would be this just forces Russia to become distracted from better places to attack. Of course if Russia doesn’t become distracted trying to defend here they will retake. Offensives of expensive and I suspect there are better places to go first. Only time will tell.
Ukraine is making a massive effort to cut off Crimea from Russia, it is widely speculated that this is in preparation to take it back.

That’s so. But retaking Crimea is a stated aim, it’s just funny to me that the default narrative has continued to be “yeah, right”.
