That’s what I was doing from when my kids were born until they left the house. 24 years of no progress with my art and I convinced myself I wouldn’t get better. This was it for me.

Then when my kids left I decided this is one of the places I wanted to spend my extra time on. I’m happy with the choice!

Some friends are pressuring me to put my stuff in an actual art show. Which is intimidating for me to even think about. I didn’t this year but they told me if I don’t next year there will be hell to pay.

Mine is the opposite… my daughter has phenomenal artistic talent…so I try to brush up on technique and skills, watch how to and tutorials to assist her… luckily, I can parrot what I’ve heard and she can take it and run with it, but all their coaching falls on incompetent earswhere I’m concerned lol

I spend a fair bit of time in various art museums…and I could easily see your work fitting in, assuming it survives the fickle whims, and vagaries of the art world.

Sounds like an awesome bonding and memory experience! I’m envious I didn’t share my love of art as much with my children.

And thank you, maybe one day after I die 😂

Why wait? Find some local coffee shop or something, see if they need for sale decor or something. A random internet stranger believes in you, that’s gotta count for something, right? 😜

Yes it does, random internet stranger!

I’m not sure I want to sell my art. Not that people won’t buy it but I fear I’ll lose the joy in it. And I’ll never be able to go full time in art. I make too much money and enjoy being a math nerd way too much for that change. If I had to pick, I’d pick math nerd over artist.

But art is pretty cool as a hobby. And if I don’t do an art show I’m not taking it seriously enough to take time away from being a math nerd.

Do you buy my excuse? 😂
