This seems HUGE to me. Lukashenko recently softened up towards Ukraine, and in response Zelenskyj answered with a demand that Belarus dismantle the repeaters in Belarus that Russia is using for their drones in Ukraine near the Belarusian border. If Belarus did not do this within a week, Ukraine would turn them off for them.

I must admit I was a bit worried by that ultimatum, because if Ukraine does that, it’s like a declaration of war. And it could put even higher pressure on Lukashenko to enter the war.
Furthermore Putin had requested a meeting, allegedly about this exact issue. And Lukashenko was apparently poisoned by Putin a couple of years back. So it’s easy to imagine Lukashenko could give in to Russian pressure, as Putin is threatening the life of Lukashenko directly, and Belarus practically is a vassal state to Russia.

So all these things considered, it seems huge that Kyiv Post now has stated that the repeaters in Belarus have been shut of!
This is a huge change from Putin hoping to lure or threaten Lukashenko and Belarus into the war. And an action that isn’t without risk for Lukashenko.
