You are pretty much the only person I’ve ever had this conversation with. I’m staying with “this guy misinterpreted me and assumed I have some different agenda or hidden motives/hate towards something else, therefore everything he said is not meant to be taken literally, but I should look for hidden psychological signs that could support my assumptions”

I never said I’ve been shut down. I said I’ve noticed the phenomenon around. Critics of Islam tend to be attacked as racists or bigots. Intellectually lazy counter-argument that’s trying to gaslight people instead of counter-arguing the argument itself.
