I donated to the devs of Lemmy for the first time, and discovered what LiberaPay is, but found out they only support American payment methods as of now, which is quite sad. But then, I went to check their GitHub suggestions to see if someone had already asked for it to be implemented, and here is their answer :
“Hello, Wero isn’t ready to be used for crowdfunding through a platform like Liberapay. We’ll add support for it when doing so becomes possible and worth the effort. As noted in #1356 (comment), Wero is currently in “Private preview” at Stripe.” GitHub Source

Nice. Although, if LiberaPay would accept Wero using Stripe, it would quite defy the purpose…
Yeah I saw that in one of the Git issues but I didn’t understand. Is it like a double processing ? You pay fees to Wero and then to Stripe ?
Using Wero would save some fees that would otherwise go to USA. But using intermediary in USA defy that, as some fees from Europe would still go to USA.
It could be that they’re waiting for the results from Stripe’s private review before attempting their own implementation. It could be they’re just pushing the decision further down the road.
