Fifield, 41, is the second woman to allege this week that Platner engaged in nonconsensual sexual conduct. Jenny Racicot, 41, who said she previously dated Platner, told The Post and other outlets on Monday that he sexually assaulted her in late 2021, leading a growing number of allies to drop their endorsements and call on him to withdraw from the race for a Maine seat in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), his most influential and prominent supporter, said he spoke with Platner on Tuesday and urged him to withdraw from his campaign to unseat Susan Collins, the incumbent Republican.

Platner, 41, a Marine Corps veteran and oyster farmer, also denied Racicot’s allegation but said on Monday that he was “mindful of the political reality” that the reporting will “inflict” on his campaign and was “taking the time to reflect on the best path forward.”

Fifield initially told The Post about the alleged condom removal during a June 20 interview that was off the record. She said she decided to speak publicly about it Tuesday in part because, she said, she wanted to show that Racicot was not alone in experiencing issues with Platner involving sexual consent.

In America, Killing people that look like me for money is a respectable job, as long as no white woman is hurt.

    racist ass country.

Absolutely true - but that doesn’t make it ok to victim blame.

Victim blaming distracts from the person whose fault it really is - the perpetrator - and instead creates a new discourse that isn’t actually helping anyone.

I don’t blame her for him lying about the condom the fist few times. I blame her for sleeping with a Nazi mercenary. Even without the rape, I would blame her for doing that.

For Fucks sake are we really rallying to protect someone who is OK with dating a nazi mercenary?

Is that where we draw the fucking line?

I am happy that he is loosing, but I am so fucking pissed that the liberal kept making excuses for a nazi mercenary and suddenly they are all Pikachu face when he turns out to be a bad person.

No fucking liberal gets to act surprised, not even his girlfriend.

        The fuck did they expect?

Well if that’s what you think then maybe stick to that messaging instead of victim blaming. It muddies your message and makes enemies of your allies (as evidenced in this very thread).

All you had to say was “Glad the liberals are finally seeing the truth about this guy” or something like that. Cut the friendly fire - womens issues are everybody’s issues, even if many women can’t see that we’re all on the same team.

that’s the problem “Glad the liberals are finally seeing the truth about this guy” isnt true.

He was known as a blackwater mercenary, that should have been the end of his career, then the nazi tattoo came out and that should have been the end of his career, glad it ends with rape. but he was a monster from the beginning, and everyone who denounced him now knew he was a nazi merc but didn’t care.

And I don’t see anyone who made excuses for a nazi as an ally.

I’m emotional because that rape happened to me and absolutely no one cared. Have PTSD and cant get treatment because legally I’m not human here. I’m emotional because he made a career killing people like me and no one cared. But hurting a white woman is when society draws the line.

Reading the news and these messages, all I read is that nazi tears matter a lot more than my life.

the messaging is that there are much more racists here that I ever thought possible, and I’m running out of mental strength to exist in a society that considers me worthless.

I hear you, and i’m sorry for what you went through. You deserve justice and medical care and to have your voice heard, and it saddens me that you aren’t getting that.

Obviously you’re free to say what you want how you want. I don’t disagree with anything you just said, but none of that context came through in your initial comment, so maybe it came across differently than you intended it to. I’m sorry that we’ve made you feel worthless. You aren’t worthless, and you deserve to be heard.

I will admit my first comment was a but too victim blaming. I did not meant it as a general, no one deserves sexual violence (neither regular violence). regardless of their crimes or mistakes.

Seeing so many people still defend a Nazi, and that maybe if I was a white woman it would have been taken seriously.

I know even for women the system fails them, I don’t want to bring back MRA and use my injustices to make it worse for others. And likely the only reason people are listening to her, is not because he assaulted her, but because of a political game to take him down. If he was still a mercenary no one would have paid attention to her accusations. We really need more care for victims.

I want the systems to be present to protect the victims and provide justice. So even though I will never shed a tear for someone who dated a nazi, I think the systems should be in place to protect her and everyone regardless of race or gender.

Yeah literally nobody here is saying that.

Coming from one of the few people on this site who was skeptical of Platner, mainly due to the Nazi tattoo that he definitely knew about, you should go ahead and fuck yourself.

He had a real chance to win maine, you cannot say that his career wasn’t considered respectable by at least Maine.
