    People get games that have their servers shut down running all the time. There are entire communities of people who play games like that. My point is that if you have these games physically, they cannot prevent people from legally getting their hands on the files. And there are always talented people who will find ways to get shut down games running again. The reason physical media matters here is because this is another example of a game being completely digital, and a company being able to revoke access to games or content that people paid money for. We need to protect the ownership of the things we make purchases on. This was a free game, but there were also ways to spend money on it. And as usual, the company said anyone who spent money can go fuck themselves. Physical media is one option that helps combat shit like this. No company would have ever been able to pull off something like that before games went digital.
