A Burlingame teenager is among 11,000 California drivers who received notices from the CA Department of Motor Vehicles requiring them to retake a test because of what the agency described as an "irregularity" in test results.

      Drivers Education classes start at age 15 1/2 in California.

      They can’t drive by themselves until passing that course and Drivers Training, then a test, usually 1 year later.
