Too many people thinking they have too much to lose.
Yep. Too many people in the not-targeted class aren’t willing to step up and do their part. They’d rather whine on social media about “somebody should do something.” But that somebody is never them. Not until ICE is on their doorstep shooting their dog.
Because of our hyper individualism here in the USA, we have very little solidarity. It’s this absence of solidarity that stays the hand. No one believes the rest of us will charge in after them and have their back. Why should they? This is the land of “fuck you, I got mine”.
Second I don’t live in Georgia nor have the means or funds to start committing domestic terrorism. But you want start something and we can get millions with us then maybe we can do something that will actually work to end this bullshit. One man out doing shit won’t do shit but get me 100 year prison sentence like those folks in Texas who most were not even connected.
So, if you’re not in the area, and you’re not willing to stick your own neck out ti uphold your expressed values, then why do you think you need to have an opinion?
Your opinion essentially boils down to “someone else should do prison time for the crimes I want to see comitted because I’m too chickenshit to live by my own values.”
“You can’t make a direct impact tomorrow therefore you can’t have an opinion” is the stupidest take I’ve heard today. Keep raging online about how people vent frustration online lol
“If you aren’t in the area and aren’t willing to stick your neck out”
“You can’t make a direct impact tomorrow”
Those are communicating the same idea. “If you’re not one who’s willing and able to enact change, then you shouldn’t have an opinion on it”
You’re arguing semantics because you know you have nothing else.
You added the “tomorrow”. I did not specify a timeline. So, no. They aren’t communicating the same idea.
But thanks for going so far as to put together a whole powerpoint about the poor reasoning and awful reading comprehension skills that caused you to create your straw man. (Tip: That’s hyperbole. Don’t take it literally, champ.)
What I said was - If you aren’t in the area and this isn’t “your” issue in some tangible way, why do you feel so strongly that you need to have an opinion about it that you express publicly? What purpose does this meaningless public exhortation for “somebody to do something” serve?
Maybe if you’d stayed in school, you’d understand that words have meaning beyond whatever your tiny, self-centered mind can conceive of. After all, you’re so unoriginal you chose that username, likely to help communicate to the world the fact that you’ve got the mind of a twelve year-old prepubescent little boy.
Why is it always “someone” should do it? Why not you?
He’s got work tomorrow.

Stop encouraging people to confess to crimes on the internet.
Uh but there’s only like 12 of us on Lemmy right? The FBI probably makes fun of us…
The FBI is too busy hawking Krash-out Patel’s hooch to do any real policing.
Wrong takeaway. I’d prefer if he’d STFU and not say anything at all. Whatever he may or may not do does not need to be advertised on the internet.
Well, for starters Fredselfish.

Good thing that’s not what was said. But hey, good job on that public demonstration of your poor reading comprehension.
This is why it’s important to stay in school.
