    Adding vinegar to mayonnaise is exceedingly common. Yolk, oil, mustard, vinegar and salt are the usual ingredients.

      Yes, but not as much as you need to get a taste approaching miracle whip.

          It’s been a long time but I remember it tasting distinctly sour, to the point where it’s not useful as a general mayonnaise replacement (no matte what some people say).

            Given what their chocolate tastes like, I’m usually not too eager to taste US foodstuff when I’m over there (although it’s probably going to be a while before I visit again, if ever).
