With these new rules, FIDE has managed to
- Imply the mental inferiority of women
- Validate the existence of transgender men
- Destroy the integrity of awards record-keeping
- Call transgender women men
Very nice, FIDE, incredible mental gymnastics performance! 👏 Add them to the ever lengthening sports federation shitlist.
Because the ‘female only’ events are exclusionary rather than inclusionary. People who want to exclude others will, obviously, want to exclude even more people who match their specific criteria in any way.
It’s just odd the way people excuse transphobia with the whole “well if women don’t want them there” excuse. You wouldn’t justify any othet kins of bigotry in the same manner.
It’s because trans women are, for all intents and purposes, still treated as ‘men in dresses’ by a lot of people; even feminists. And when feminists think you’re not ‘woman enough’ and refuse to stand up for your rights as a woman…
