And it’s not like they have to trick most people, or even anyone really, so long as it satisfies the desire to have some kind of fig leaf to post-hoc rationalize what they’re doing. A lot (most?) of the audience probably knows that it is a lie but is too cynically self-interested to think it’s a problem; ethics are for betas and cucks after all.
