    Even without the current rash of lettuce etc. Mexicans can get a form of “Montezuma’s revenge” (Alamo revenge?) from eating in America, because their guts aren’t used to the local bacteria. This can happen any time you travel internationally - especially if you eat any kind of street food.

      To compare this to bacteria is a mistake.

      This is a parasite that only spreads from feces. If you get this parasite, it’s because you’re literally eating shit. That’s nothing like airborne bacteria. Having shit in your food is a catastrophic and easily avoidable thing.
