Tankies keep posting “NATO-backed Zionists” on the comm. It’s completely delusional because China, Russia, India, etc. all support Zionism as well. I was banned for pointing this out. I knew I was going against tankie narratives so I’m not surprised. It’s still pretty pathetic. Tankies literally value their alt-empire over actual meaningful anti-zionism.

FWIW I’m not especially anti-tankie either. I consider them the same as libs. People who are def better than fash but not necessarily allies.

Edit: While I’m complaining… It’s worth pointing out that the palestine comm at lemmy.ml is basically spam. There’s people distracting with their NATO/Russia politricks. There’s people reposting slop from X. I mean what is this post? I’m ok with fundraising if it’s actually overt but this is absurd. I should have switched to dbzer0 long ago.

    Not to nato level. China and russia are complicit because of trade but the west and nato back them with weapons and diolomatic protection. I am no tankie snd I believe russia is the agressor but yesh nato back up israel colonization

      I’m not denying NATO support. I’m just pointing out that almost all states support zionism, especially their regimes of preference.

        In the case of India and China, the basic principle of foreign policy is that we have to recognise and work with the governments of all countries even if we don’t like them. Recognition of, and trade with, Israel does not mean endorsement of zionism or any other policy of theirs. We simply recognise national sovereignity as an absolute principle.

        Not sure if china really believe in zionism. China yes believe the creation of israel was legitimate because of the UN supported it which is ridiculous but they do not talk about how israel should forever remain a jewish state . For russia yes I agree they really believe in zionism based on putin own words
