We’re working on it now. There’s a big push for what they call Social and Emotional Learning, at least in Early Childhood Education out here in the California Bay Area
My wife teaches the littles and about half her day is on SEL. Honestly I’m impressed how much more aware the next generation is (at least the ones I interact with, who tend to be more educated) compared to where I was at their age. Like when my wife was doing student teaching, they were learning algebra in the 5th grade. It was the end of the school year, but when I was in school I didn’t get to factoring polynomials until 7th or 8th grade, I forget, and I was the math whiz at my school. They’re doing a few things right, just not everything.
