Good grief, has she not seen all the advances in medical technology in the last 50 years? Life saving technology? How can someone with such high qualifications be this stupid?
And on a side note, she also says ‘AI is for everyone’. if AI is for everyone, why doesn’t she champion for companies to stop putting AI technologies up behind paywalls and subscriptions? 🤔
I’m not sure if your statement is rhetorical or if you’re actually looking for provable life saving AI. If you’re looking for actual use cases today then here’s a couple:
I’m guessing that what he’s getting at is more in terms of first responders: AI may be able to detect cancer or diagnose something, but what can it do for a man who calls 911 or 999 and says he is having a heart attack — AI cannot help here, only an actual human being can. The question is where do we throw the money? What is the priority? There are undoubtedly arguments for both sides, but people who are against AI will naturally side with the option which involves putting less money into AI and more money into practical applications lG
It was both. We had machine learning before there were massive environment killing data centers. I’m not getting why my ram has to cost $700 now though
