General Work Strike just isn’t feasible at this time, imo. A Consumption strike could be, if we could get enough people on that, and have in fact suggested a similar tactic in the past with a Rent/Mortgage strike.

Reasons why I think a GWS just isn’t feasible is it comes down to resources. The working class here in the U.S. have basically no resources built up to survive without work long enough to break the economy. We don’t have mutual aid organizations, unions, or even savings to pull it off.

Where as a consumption/rent/mortgage strike would allow the working class to keep resources, and possibly even build up enough to make a GWS feasible. Imagine another 2kish in your pocket a month because we all stopped paying our rent/mortgage. How much would it cost the owner class to try to root us from our homes? It also gives many people the home and defensive advantage as goons would have to go into neighborhoods surrounded by enemies from all directions if they tried to evict. It’s also an easier sell because of how much rent/mortgage takes out of our checks.

So yeah, I think General Work Strike is a bad tactic at this time, but a Consumption/Rent/Mortgage Strike is possible if it gains enough popularity.
