Why would you buy it again just to have on GoG?

You only really own a PC game you bought on gog. Everywhere else you’re just renting.

OK I get this sentiment, but what does that offer me when it’s a digital game besides not having the CD revoked from me at the whim of the publisher? Can I sell it? Can I lend it to friends?

You can download the installer and install it on any machine you have, and there is nothing stopping you from giving the installer to a friend.

The GoG version of any game doesn’t require you to have a GoG account nor their client on your pc, and they don’t have DRM. Which means that, if GoG was to shut down tomorrow, you will still be able to install the game and play it.

Thanks for the response, I knew about the DRM bit but never put it together what you said about being able to install it if GoG was to shut down. Pretty awesome!
