Colin Gray, the Georgia father whose teenage son Colt killed four people in a 2024 school shooting, was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison in a landmark case testing the limits of who can be held responsible for a mass shooting.
Colin Gray also admitted he was aware that his son had been physically violent, had a photo of a school shooter on his bedroom wall and had texted a few weeks before the attack, “Whenever something happens, just know the blood is on your hands.”
Honestly it would make more sense for the son to get 15 years and the dad to get life…
If the dad ignored all those red flags and bought his 14 year old an AR then he was fucking up almost every other aspect of parenting as well.
The son has at least a chance of reform due to age alone, the father is a complete lost cause and will act the same and likely worse when released. For all intents and purposes putting the gun in that kids hands is more liable than a clearly fucked up kid pulling the trigger.
Honestly a 14/15 yo is still a child. Their brain is flooded with hormones. Even well-adjusted kids are just freaking monsters at that age with limited reasoning and limited future vision.
I agree that the adult is way more liable for this avoidable tragedy.
