Yeah, Mina Harker is a character from Dracula. Her friend Lucy Westenra was one of Dracula’s first victims in England. She was the next one that Dracula targeted. She used her faint psychic link to him to help Van Helsing and the rest of his team of Scoobies track him to Transylvania.
In the book, the curse was lifted after they staked him. I guess she turned into a vampire anyway in Deadlock.
She was betrothed to Aryn Fairfax (Pocket) and promised a life in the limelight. She was basically raised for this very purpose, so her parents could have their family joined with Fairfax (basically magic Rockefeller industrial-complex family of America).
When Aryn was asassinated (failed, Aryn actually just went into hiding taking on the name “Pocket” ) by order of their own father, the marriage obviusly fell through.
A spoiled brat, she made the lives of her parents a living hell for “failing” to provide for her, so in an attempt to sate her desire for glory, they promise her eternal youth and unlimited power
They arrange to have her become a vampire (something the rich in Deadlock can apparently “just do”).
She’s still not happy, though. As a vampire, she’s basically the lowest of the low. In their social circles, she is less than a child. She was young as a human. As a vampire she’s considered dirt.
Made absolutely livid by this chain of percieved injustice, Mina is participating in the ritual with the aim to become Viscount of New York, and rule vampire society as she sees fit.
Pocket doesn’t exactly speak kindly about him, but at some point Fairfax and Dynamo were on well enough terms for Dynamo to become Arins godfather. And in interactions Dynamo says he would unconditionally support Arin, while implying that hes not on speaking terms with Farifax anymore.

She’s never met Dracula in Deadlock.

Why the hell did Fairfax order his kid’s assassination anyway?
It’s kinda implied that Fairfax has gone insane.

Yeah lots of the Deadlock heroes are inspired by public domain fantasy but none of them are actually congruous to the source material.
