Couple that with the name ‘Amir Hassan’ and you’ve got a recipe for riling up the inbreds to cast a vote against the one that looks different. Unfortunately, he dropped out after the deadline to have his name removed, and so he was still on the ballot. When you see Amir Hassan and Thomas J. Smith, and you hate anyone that isn’t white, you vote for good ol’ Tommy Boy.
How did he assess that, though? Especially when the candidate he told his supporters to vote for instead only got 16.4% of the vote compared to his own 50.4%.
I don’t know if he did or didn’t, I would imagine he pulled out based on his own status and tried to throw what weight he had behind someone other than Hassan.

He raised something like $1600 vs Hassan’s $700,000. That’s hard to look at in a positive light.
