    It’s interesting because he’s supposed to be a representative of the people that elected him. If anything it would seem like he’s defying them, right?

      That’s the usual pattern. They promise, we elect, they betray, they blame the other guys, promise for realsies this time, we elect again, they betray again.

      And in a two party system, in a state like California where they will not elect a Republican (unless they run a dozen spoiler candidates in the so called open elections) then Newsom can do what he wants. Now he’s a lame duck. But he can still suck corporate dick for that presidential backing.

        He doesn’t stand a chance to be the nominee. Kissing Sociopathic Oligarch ass is bad for your political career these days. It brings money, but chases off votes. Money is important, but not as important as votes.
