I think we just need a post finale episode.
The Game of Thrones formula is 10 episodes, with episode 9 being the big explosion and episode 10 being the wrap up and set up. This season of HOTD opened with episode 9 of season 2. So we got an abridged season. So this season needed to have this happen last episode, and then wrap it up. However I think there is still more “Tumblerton” story to tell, so they’re stuck a little bit.

So I’ve read this feedback elsewhere, but I think it’s just creative license. Realistically Roddy the White Wolf hunts down and mortally wounds Ormund. That’s reasonable. Additionally Ulf burns the shit out of Tumblerton. Roddy dies. Ormund dies. Ulf burns. Those probably didn’t actually happen together.
But Roddy and Ormund fighting is a reasonable series of events. Ulf probably did burn a lot of people. Did he possibly burn the already dying fighting to death Roddy and Ormund. Sure why not.
