Yes, and they even inserted lines for Jiji where he originally had none in a couple of instances. The Disney dub even more infamously butchered the original musical score by replacing quite a bit of the thematically appropriate songs that contribute to the time period in which the movie is set with generic early '90s pop-slop that sounds like it ought to belong to a daytime soap opera instead.

And that’s before taking into account that they felt the need to replace much of the incidental music, such as during the crows sequence, with friggin’ Looney Tunes songs.

As I understand it the only reason that all this didn’t result in Miyazaki directly threatening anyone at Disney with his samurai sword was due to there being an ocean in the way. This might have been a lucky escape for all those responsible. (That, and Joe Hisaishi probably deserves to have his complaint heard first.)
