          Honestly I wish I had an emotionally supportive dad so that I could fully understand this sentiment, but as things are I can only appreciate it from an artistic perspective.

          Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful he’s still around. He’s grown up in a lot of ways, but in many ways he’s still the same and I’ve had to just learn to accept that he’ll never be the father figure I always needed…

            I agree with this. Mine entered hospice without even telling me; I found out he died from his friends.

            You just have to work with what you’re given, and do a better job for your own children.

      I know it’s not the case, but don’t care because the thought makes me lol
