Hey, sorry if this is a bit too broad of a question but I recently got together a build.(link)

There was a warning that there might be space issues with GPU/Cooler on pcpartpicker.

Just wondering if there’s anywhere I can check for sure if this is a concern before I buy any parts.

The parts are compatible, but not sure if the GPU will fit in the case. You could go for a full tower to be sure.

There are cheaper RTX 4070 models available on the same page, so unless you absolutely want this exact model you could save 60-70€.

Also unless you need all the nvidia features like CUDA, you could also try seeing if you can find a cheap AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT in your country. It would perform better and has more VRAM for future proofing.

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yeah, I plan to do a little more research on the components, generally I’ve heard bad things about AMD GPUs regarding the driver support (at least on windows), so I am considering switching to Nvidia for my new build.

I’ll see what I decide on, a friend did recommend me a 6800xt for it’s higher VRAM, so I’m going to research a bit more and see what I end up with.

No worries! I switched to AMD (7900 XTX) before christmas and so far I’ve had no issues. A 6800XT should have pretty similar performance to a 4070, not a bad choice either. The drivers are pretty much matured already so most of the launch issues, like VR performance and power usage should be resolved by now.

But NVIDIA also just works, even though the cards can be massive, and they are quite energy efficient. Their control panel is straight from windows XP era though :D

I’m sure whatever you’ll have a great gaming experience no matter what choose :)
