    Never heard of it.

Oh, its locked behind apple arcade.

I’ve wondered how it is worth limiting your audience by requiring this subscription. I dont even realize these things exist when they’re locked up like that.

The game originally existed as monetized F2P, much like many mobile games. They gave up on the freemium model, and wanted to sell it.

But, the practice of “Good, packaged game for $10” doesn’t really work on phones. Everything must be free or it doesn’t even get a look. That’s what Apple Arcade tried to resolve, tying to Netflix subscription model.

Not a fun answer and speaks to the dumb mobile crowd; but I certainly wish they could at least find some motivation to repack it into a $0.99 game for preservation purposes.

A game that can be taken away (in this case, due to a subscription) is one I won’t play out of principle.

When my PS3 had a YLOD, all I was left with was a Nexus Player, bought a few games only to have them stop working after a few Android updates. Games on Android never again… until today I: tried GameNative. Freaking amazing. Now I allow myself to play on mobile again. Buy once, play anywhere, Steam, GOG… Happyness all around. PC, Deck, Phone. It’s Crazy good.

Publisher makes money from exclusivity deal, and the subscription makes money because of exclusive content.

Whether that money is worth it or not is a different maths though.
