it’s a good thing that we fear bad things of the future so we can fight to avoid them. Then maybe we can have (somewhat) good artificial consciousness.

If anything it’s ironically altruistic that we’re removing ourselves from the universe like this.
The absolute majority of people on this planet have almost no impact on carbon emissions and even under those that do have an impact, there is an incredibly strong disparity. Its not “humanity” doing this, vasts amounts of humanity have zero influence on it.
