Outside of TV shows, people don’t congregate right around the grill the whole time. Also, the heat of the grill stays outside. When it’s hot out, using the oven or the stove inside heats the house up quite a lot, and it’s really hard to cool it back down in the evening, so when it’s hot is when we’re most likely to grill.

Using a stove warms up the house.
And most grilling you have to stand next to the source of the heat which gets far hotter than a stove.
