The X-37B is hosting several technology demonstrations from government partners on this mission, include laser communications and a quantum inertial sensor designed to support navigation when GPS is unavailable. On its previous mission, the vehicle executed a first of its kind aerobraking maneuver to change orbits while conserving propellant.

Yeah it’s a cool vehicle for sure, and of course it must have some sort of reconnaissance role… I’m just so curious about what that role actually is, there are a lot of theories about it.

Like is its job to spy on other satellites, or to disable other satellites, or is it a servicing and repair drone, does it have a robotic arm hidden in the fuselage, what else does it have in there, is it weaponized?

    You know all that stuff.

It has a robotic arm like the space shuttle, it can do whatever the hell it wants essentially.
