    It’s funny when this Chinese Malaysian Cheong guy is probably not called Ian Miles on his passport.

    Like it’s very common for Chinese people to have an unofficial English name that they’ve chosen themselves.

    Preferred nouns for me not for thee

      That’s only because you have to fill out a form to change it and there’s very little benefit: nobody automatically sees your passport above your head.

      I know it’s not your intention, but I find it quite offensive that you imply we are ashamed of our traditional names, when we are borderline forced to take a different one and assimilate.
