It’s definitely nausea for me, I would feel like I’m about to throw up even though my stomach was empty. I’m t1 diabetic and have plenty of low blood sugar events and that never makes me feel nauseous so it’s not that.

I looked it up a while back because it seemed so counter intuitive and the site said it’s because you’re body will produce extra stomach acid in anticipation of food and if that doesn’t come then your stomach lining gets irritated.

I guess I have never eaten at regular points in the day long enough for my body to be conditioned for that. I have always eaten when I get hungry rather than by meal (barring school lunch).

The English language has a lot of different kinds of hunger hiding behind a single word too, there are these little hunger pangs you might start feeling a few hours after eating, but those aren’t capital H hunger. If Its been more than 12 hours you will get hungry weakness where it might feel like you are starving, but you really aren’t and you kinda resume normal functioning if you push past it. After 24 hours capital H Hunger has arrived, you are starving and burning pure body fat and running low like a candle. There is also hunger more like malnutrition where you are chronically underfed and certain bodily functions have been subprime for months or years. Shit even low blood sugar is gets called hunger. It can be kinda hard to know what kind of hunger a person is experiencing unless you know the full context or ask more questions.
