In areas where it didn’t make sense it wasn’t. The high saturation in the shown scene helps emphasize the magical feeling the characters are feeling, which the viewer is supposed to emphathize with.
I get that, but they definitely overdid it. I still remember watching this movie for the first time (first CD I’ve ever got) and getting my retinas burned by this scene, as well as not seeing shit in the stairway “fight” scene or the Hagrid’s arrival to the hut. Quiddich surprisingly was okay, I guess adding colors other than yellow does help.
