    It’s not that though. It’s Americans doing the same overused “joke” about UK, completely different country. You can’t self-deprecate another culture.

      White Americans say the same thing about themselves - that they don’t use spice. Salt is spicy, they love mayonnaise, etc.

          There are several comments about Americans here. And as far as the real world, it’s a very well known trope in America. So much so, it became a news story in the 2016 election, when Clinton was accused cultural appropriation for claiming she always carries a bottle of hot sauce in her purse.

            Everywhere. Not saying it’s not happening, everyone does a bit of self-deprecating humour some times. But the amount of slander Americans do against non-americans is just on another level.
