The WWII surplus basically doesn’t exist outside museums. The vast majority would have been used (especially in training) or updated. Even just chemical instability and environmental degradation would have made anything too dangerous to really leave in an arsenal.

Maybe it was old surplus, but not WWII. I heard that on a YouTube channel called Luke Beasley.
WWII surplus would have been used in Korea or the Vietnam war I would assume
