EU seems to be creating a Great White Alliance
Canada is an extremely diverse country. There is no race that can claim to be Canadian. We are a mosaic…where all the colours combine to create something much larger.
Let’s not forget that racism and anti-immigrant sentiment is on the rise around the world, so from a pragmatic standpoint, if the EU wants to expand its influence by inviting more countries to share freedom of movement with, then the best place to start is with countries that WON’T cause the more reactionary elements of European society to immediately freak out.
A pretty big chunk of NZ is some shade of brown, so if that’s true, they won’t be happy about us being let in.

Most of the people who would freak out are people who don’t interact with immigrants in the first place so they’re not likely to notice if New Zealanders don’t match what they imagine. As long as racists THINK they’re getting their way, what they don’t know won’t hurt them.
Well, look at it this way. Europe has a demographic crash it’s trying to reverse, and indigenous communities are unlikely to complain about fewer people of European descent in settler-colonized states. Sounds like a potential for a win-win, no?
I just really want Mondragon Corporation to look at expanding across the pond. We could use some of that in Canada.
