    if forced to reopen, they should do it (rather than get pushed out and effectively give admins full control), but allow only a single new mod post every day- “day 5 of forced reopening discussion thread” and lock every other post.

      And get kicked off day 2 while the threads get deleted. Probably the most effective way is to just open and not do any moderating.

            The more I think about this situation the more pissed off I get. Reddit is basically going to make bank off of the volunteer work of the mods and loads of user generated content. And god forbid anyone should have an opinion about Reddit screwing this up because they’ll fire you from your volunteer work.

            No wonder everybody is flocking to the fediverse.

      They can just go into the management back-end and do whatever they want. Spez used it to edit commenters’ posts years ago, so he knows how to rig things if he wants to. Question is, how long will it take him to get fed up with us and get around to doing it?
