EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Quinten Martinez, pumping gas under a hot South Texas sun, remembers a time when fueling up didn’t require difficult decisions.
“Is it going to be groceries this week?” asked the 28-year-old Amazon delivery driver as he watched the numbers tick higher. “Is it gonna be getting gas in our tank to go to work?”
He shook his head when asked about President Donald Trump’s assertion last week that higher gas prices are a small price to pay for the war with Iran.
“I don’t feel like it’s a good trade-off,” Martinez said. “I don’t feel like this is good for anyone.”
Voters across the country, and across the political spectrum, tend to agree.

You might be surprised to find out that a lot of people have suggested balkanizing the United States and there’s even a lot of thought projects around the idea. You should be in a habit of gaming out your own thoughts. Because I think your idea is retarded. Having already thought through it a few times.
You came onto a public form and advocated a policy. I think it’s important to show on the public form that people that advocate, irrational policies have surprisingly no rationality behind the thought.
Two replies indicate that you have some emotion behind this subject and much of your response comes from there. It is possible to have “what if” conversations without them turning into “now plug in all the holes for me right now” followed by “and you’re obviously an idiot for speaking in public without knowing the answers to everything”.
What if the US broke into 4 parts and the south east USA invaded the north east USA, or California part forced you into submission. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you’re from one of the former confederate states?
