“Archimedes” post molt feather is perfect.
Western screech-owls typically live only a few years in the wild, but some individuals have survived more than 14 years in professional managed care. Their lifespan depends on factors such as food availability, predation, disease, and human-related hazards.
At 16 years & 8 months, “Archimedes” lead a long career as an favorite Animal Ambassador. A few years ago she retired from programs and is now breaking records.
