Eric Clark, 45, charged with murder as autopsy concludes Fortune was dead days before body discovered in tree

A third person has been arrested in the death of 29-year-old Tasia Fortune in Mississippi’s capital city, while investigators said they had determined the scene where her body was found hanging had been staged.

Eric Clark, 45, surrendered to authorities on Friday and was charged with murder, according to the Jackson police department (JPD). Clark was scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.

Police disclosed Friday that an autopsy investigation concluded “the scene and the hanging were staged”.

Authorities did not release additional information about the circumstances surrounding Fortune’s killing or why investigators believe the scene was faked.

    First off, ACAB, I never trust the police. But a quick question, why would 3 grown black men bring a noose to a drug deal? I’ve heard of many drug deals going bad in the past but to have a noose on hand just in case someone dies and you have to make it look like a lynching is a pretty big coincidence in my eyes.

      Why are you mentioning a drug deal? I haven’t heard anything about the motive. Also, allegedly the body was dead 2-3 days before being transported and hanged, so I don’t know what you’re on about in that respect either

      I mean… It’s rope. I keep like 500ft of paracord in my car. Why? A million different reasons. It’s just useful to have on hand. I also have a roll of duct tape, a lighter, an emergency whistle, and 2 full sets of clothes. They fit in the storage compartment under the floor of my trunk.
