it started from a broken search bar then when I tried to fix it something else broke, then it became the most annoying whack a mole game of all time so I removed everything and start from scratch.

So instead of just toggling it off, you invested lots of time intentionally making your browser look bad?
That’s the linux spirit
Why? Because fuck Microsoft, that’s why.
Not for me lol. I added the config to my user.js, committed to my repo, and restarted the browser. Now I have what I wanted and not a gross mess, and it took 1 minute.
buttons and menus are still rounded I wanted everything square for the colors that’s just place holders later I will make it match my desktop theme, plus with my own CSS I can make everything use only one row which is save a lot of space
I’ve done similar when designing/troubleshooting CSS - obnoxious colours, temporary heavy borders (potentially also obnoxious colours). Makes it much easier to see where your objects are specifically, z-index, unintentional overlaps and so on.
Finally someone like me, thought I’m the only one doing this with css
dw, i do it too! it seems fairly logical; akin to using silly placeholder strings in programming.
.fucking-piece-of-shit { background: red !important; ... }Ok. I just turned that new toggle switch off in about:config because, while I didn’t love it, it was for me more just that the old style was easier to parse and I was also used to it.
