Did that guy ever get the help he obviously needs?

The bipolar one, I mean, not the war crime one

Probably not: people with a tendency towards bipolar psychosis usually need a high degree of self-awareness to seek the help they need rather than refuse treatment out of hope for the good part of hypomania becoming their permanent state.

That or people in their support network willing to tell them the necessary truths they don’t want to hear.

Given his general behavior and the fact that he’s a hectomillionaire superstar probably surrounded by sycophants, he’s sadly unlikely to have either.

Source: Bipolar 2 myself, but luckily have both self-awareness and good people around me so I’ve been medically stabilized for nearly two decades and have never reached full blown mania before slamming the brakes.

I’ve got a good friend (who reminds me a lot of Kanye tbh) that contends with bipolar (dunno the type). One of his big struggles is the depressive side. Apparently antipsychotics and antidepressants don’t play well together?

The point is (assuming what I’ve been told is accurate), besides being a friend and looking out for my buddy, do you have any tips I could pass on for coping with the depressive swings? I’m currently addressing major depression myself, but I’ve got meds to help until I can work through things. I remember the listless ennui when depression would strike, but I never developed adaptive behaviors before being diagnosed and getting meds
