One time, coming through the line at a Target, the cashier said he needed to see my ID. I was maybe 45 I think, and was not buying alcohol so was extremely confused. I said “why?” And he said “Fireworks.”
I was buying those sparkler sticks for my little kids - he had to scan my ID to prove I was over 18 so that I could buy something I was about to legally hand to a 5 year old.
