Although since he proved he can time jump with his sister, he could have taken his daughter with him back to the past, changed the past to fix the bad thing from happening, and then brought his daughter back and just had an extra unexplained kid.
Sister’s memories had been rewritten when she returned, implying there’s some sort of continuity tether in the timeline. Who knows what would happen to (at minimum) the memories of a child who no longer exists.
Plus, I think you underestimate how unbelievably creepy it would be to show up to your house and introduce your wife to the strange kid you “just found?”… Like, immediate 999 (they’re in the UK) and divorce.
