Hey, it’s a little hard to tell in the photo, but what kind of color or feel are you going for on the robe? The picture unfortunately desaturates it a bit.
Some black wash on the rebreather would help. I prefer painting metallics over black, but for speed washing black onto metal works great.
When you’re doing troops, best thing is assembly line. Once you’re good at it, even a few fine detail paint flourishes on the models won’t slow down the work flow of a squad. I recommend double sided tape from a hardware store, and something to use as a painting handle. I get a lot of mileage out of Coca-Cola brand plastic bottle caps and large plastic juice caps. But anything you can get a lot of and that is roughly the right size will work. Using painting handles very much improves paintjobs, and using DIY ones is cheaper than buying a dozen Citadel brand handles.
